Fussy Eating & Feeding Problems

Fussy eating and problem feeding can be a major concern for people with disabilities, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder. It can include eating a restricted range of foods or textures that results in frustration during mealtimes for all involved. In more severe cases it can lead to weight loss, vitamin deficiencies and more serious health conditions.

We support people to develop the skills to eat a range of foods through play based therapy and gradual exposure using the SOS Approach (Sequential Oral Sensory Approach). We believe that mealtimes are a highly social experience and aim to reduce the stress of mealtimes by creating a routine and supporting the person to enjoy a range of foods.
