What is a Speech Pathologist?
A speech pathologist is a therapist who can support you and your family to assess, diagnose and treat communication and swallowing difficulties.
Communication deficits can include difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills, stuttering and using voice.
Swallowing difficulties can include concerns over frequent chest infections, complications due to stroke or brain injuries, sensory aversions to foods and difficulty transitioning from one type of food or drink to another.
Speech pathologists work with a variety of people who may have difficulties communicating due to developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, stroke, brain injuries, learning disability, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, dementia and hearing loss, as well as other problems that can affect speech and language.
Ready, Set, Go! Therapy Services supports all people with communication or swallowing difficulties, but also those who present with diagnosis’, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Developmental Delays, Dyslexia and various syndromes.
Ready, Set, Go! provides services for children from 6 months through to adolescents and adults. We use the most up to date assessments, teaching and therapy methods to provide a positive experience so that we can ensure a positive outcome.
All speech pathologists at Ready, Set, Go! are accredited and registered with Speech Pathology Australia.
